Dance Classes Monday December 12 Cancelled
Due to bad road conditions, Monday December 12, 2016 dance classes are cancelled. Although Christmas break starts next week, we will plan to have classes on Monday December 19th at regular times.

Santa Parade and Christmas Show is THIS FRIDAY DECEMBER 2ND. If you are in the parade, line up is behind the courthouse at 5:30. The parade starts at 5:45. Dress WARM. Glow yourself up!
The show immediately after the parade is at the studio. Students should wear anything Christmasy. If they are in multiple routines, they will NOT have the opportunity to change clothes. The studio will be a mad house! Yay Christmas! Please show the Christmas Spirit! Here is the tentative lineup and times:

Santa Parade and Christmas Performance!
Save the Date for the St. Johns downtown Santa Parade. Friday December 2 at 5:45pm. Heather’s Dance Company will participate this year! Yay! I am looking for baton twirlers to twirl glo batons, tumblers to “glow stick” themselves up and tumble in the parade behind the float and 8-10 littles to ride on the float and look cute. Please sign up at the studio. We have limited space on the float, but lots of walkers are welcome. The parade goes from the courthouse down mainstreet to the Depot.
Flash Mob at the Parade: Heather’s Dance Company is collaborating with other dance studios, teams and bands to create a cute “flash mob” style routine in the parade. If you are interested in participating in this, please request the choreography link to be emailed to you. (ages 10 and up) and sign up at the studio.
Christmas Performance after the Santa Parade:
Most classes will begin to learn short, fun Christmas routines this week and the month of November. It is our intention to put on a short Christmas recital at the studio after the Santa Parade. We (the competition and dance at Disney team) will have soup and Hot chocolate for sale, the studio will be open and you are invited to come sit inside and watch your dancers perform their Christmas routines. Costume: anything Christmasy, unless we discuss something specific in class ie santa hat, garland around body, hat, scarf, Christmas sweater, dress, etc.
A time slot is allocated, but we may run over or under as needed. Here are the approximates:
6:30 Ballet 2 (Mon), Pre Dance (Wed and Fri), Tap 1 (Tues), Jazz 3 (Thurs), Pointe (Wed)

STUDIO SHOES AND DRESS CODE ARE ALL HERE! *Note that it is NOT required to purchase items here, it is just convenient and it benefits the studio to do so. Note that these shoes should be ordered 2-3 sizes larger than the street shoe (for child sizes) they fit very small and tight! There is a sizing kit at the studio if you’d like to come in for a fitting. The leotards and tights and sparkle bears are a great convenience and are great quality.

Fund Raiser Opportunities 2016
#1 Snack Table. Sign up for a week to be in charge of the snack table. You would be in charge of providing snacks (homemade or store bought) for the snack table for the entire week. Items would need to be packaged and ready to sell for 75 cents each. The snack table will be started next week by the Moore family. They have done it before so you can use them as an example. (You come in and empty the money bucket into an envelope for the family from the previous week, set up your stuff and sell away) A sign up sheet will be on the table. (Last year, with donations from volunteers, we used snack table funds to purchase 5 costumes in the costume angel program!) Please support this great easy fundraiser. If you’d like to participate in this but do not plan to attend any of the dance teams, you can just donate the proceeds to the costume angel fund.
#2 Applebees Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser. Saturday November 19th from 8-10am at St. Johns Applebees. Breakfasts are $8 each (if you’d like to participate, please sign up so you can sell tickets BEFORE the actual day) Breakfast includes eggs, bacon and pancakes, along with water to drink. Other beverages must be purchased separately. Participants must arrive at 7:30 and stay to help clean up afterward. (if you cannot commit to the entire event time, please do not participate, just come eat breakfast instead). Each dancer that pre sells tickets will receive the profit from her own pre sales, all tickets sold at the door AND tips are split equally among the participants. Dancers under 12 years old must have an adult volunteer with them.
#3 Car Wash! Saturday October 8th 11am to 2pm at St. Johns Auto Zone (corner of M-21 and old US-27). Participants should arrive at 10:30 to set up. We need to bring our own supplies including, hoses, buckets, brushes, sponges, tire cleaner, soap, drying towels, towel rack. Cars washed for a donation. All donations are split between the participants. Dancers under 12 years old must have an adult volunteer with them. You must be available the entire time in order to get equal split of funds. If it is raining that day, the wash will be cancelled.
#4 Schwans Fund Raiser. It is almost done, but not too late. If you’d like your proceeds from your friends and family, you need to sign up as a team member. If you need help with that, please see the posters on the wall at the studio.
All funds from the above fund raisers would be put into a Dance Team account under your name and saved until payments are needed to be made on the trips. Only the Senior Cruise Team needs funds in October. The Competition Team will need funds in December and the Dance at Disney Trip will start sign ups and payments in January 2017.
