Recital Costumes:
All classes were shown the recital costumes chosen for their class last week. Order forms were given out as well. Costume pictures are posted on the wall in the hallway and will remain until the recital. Important information regarding tights and shoes and which show each class performs in is also on that wall. Costumes are $65 each. (add $8 for XLA or bigger) The orders and payments are due by Friday November 17th.
The recital date is Saturday May 19th, 2018. The Dress Rehearsal was printed incorrectly on several costume order forms. The correct date is Tuesday May 8th, 2018. The venue location has changed to Portland High School this season. You will be able to purchase tickets online again this season at A) a reduced ticket cost, B) a reduced online fee and C) discounts for purchasing both shows. Each class is scheduled to perform in one or both shows A (11am) or B (3:30pm) Please check each of your students classes, if sibling are in different shows, now is the time that I can correct that. I cannot do it once it is closer to the shows.
Tights and shoes are not included in the cost of the costumes. We will have the opportunity to purchase tights together at a reduced cost in January of 2018.
Measure big for the costume orders. When in doubt, go bigger. Most fit smaller than street clothes and we want them to fit in May and beyond. The girth is the most important measurement. Measure from the left shoulder, done through the crotch and back up to the left shoulder getting an entire torso measurement. Ask for assistance if in doubt.
Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fund Raiser:
Thank you to everyone that participated in or donated to the fund raiser. We are able to purchase new sound equipment at this time and are looking at adding some video equipment as well. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Other Random Information:
#1 There is no class on Tuesday October 31 for Halloween! Makeup day is Tuesday November 21st, when there normally would not be class during the week of Thanksgiving.
#2 Competition Team information is now available. This is open to students in a level 3 or higher class. There is a lot of information, please feel free to ask about it.
#3 The Dance at Disney Team leaves in 4 weeks to perform at Walt Disney World!
#4 There are several families that need financial aid to afford dance costumes (which are due right before Christmas). The studio has a very successful costume angel fund. If you are in need, please let Miss Heather know. If you can donate, please just mark the envelope as Costume Angel donation. We have very generous families here and we have never had to turn someone down that needs and wants a costume.
#5 Observers are distracting to the both the students and the instructors. Please WAIT to enter the observer area between classes. Wait in the hall for your class to be called in. Sound even travels from the hall and waiting areas. Take loud younger siblings to the back room so they do not distract the class. Do not talk on your cell phone in the dance area, do to the back room please.
#6 There is no class the week of Thanksgiving for Wed, Thurs or Friday classes. Monday classes are to make up for Labor Day, Tuesday classes are to make up for Halloween.
#7 Christmas Break is Wed Dec 20th to Tues Jan 2nd.
#8 Be sure to have the correct and well fitting shoes each week. All dancers must wear a leotard each week and hair back!
